About
At Joanne Hudspith Therapeutics, individuals experiencing symptoms from body pain, muscle tension, anxiety, PTSD, injuries or surgery recovery, concussions, chronic stress, sleep disruption, and more are guided on the path not just to relief — but an integrated and enhanced sense of well-being across mind, body, and spirit.
Founded by Joanne Hudspith, a certified Yoga Therapist and author, the Hamilton, Ontario-based movement studio offers both online classes and yoga therapy sessions from the comfort of home. Hudspith’s method is deeply personalized, recognizing that each individual’s journey towards health and wellness is unique and requires a tailored approach. She starts with gaining a detailed understanding of her clients’ specific concerns to ensure that, whether they are working in a group or private setting, she is guiding them to the therapies and movements best suited for their needs.
“I want to help you find the approach that works with your life, that best meets your needs, and addresses your current issues so you can take your first step on the pathway to better health and less pain,” Joanne explains. “When I understand your needs and goals, I can work with you to help you meet them.”
Joanne can deeply empathize herself, understanding this crossroads all too well. “I know how easy it is to let pain become the story that defines you, or to limit the things you love to do,” she shares. “I have experienced my share, and I can still remember the moment it started to go away; it wasn’t because I figured out what the problem was and fixed it, but because I finally decided to listen to what my body was telling me.
“When my mind softened, so did my body. That epiphany started a journey that changed the way I was teaching yoga, and led to an intensive training and certification as a yoga therapist.”
Joanne has since helped hundreds of people learn how to decrease pain and tension, improve stability and mobility, and get back to doing the activities they love. “When I hear people say ‘oh, I used to do yoga, but I hurt myself’ or ‘I went to a yoga class and I couldn’t walk for a week,’ I say, ‘you know what? Come with me because I can show you how to move differently and I can help make a difference in your life.’ And then I love getting to hear my students tell me about the ways they’re getting back to doing the things they want to and seeing their eyes light up as they move back towards the life they want to live.”
To that end, in addition to her 1:1 sessions, Joanne Hudspith Therapeutics offers a variety of online group classes designed to meet the needs of its diverse clientele:
// Gentle Therapeutic
These sessions are ideal for those navigating recent injuries, chronic pain, or recovery from joint replacement surgery. “The focus is on learning to move more mindfully, and improving balance and stability without increasing pain.”
// Mindful Movement Fundamentals
Aimed towards individuals who generally feel well but are hindered by occasional pains, these classes emphasize improving the mind-body connection and enhancing core stability and mobility. “We start with moving well, and then play with ways to add load and complexity,” she explains.
// Movement Breakfast
A dynamic, shorter class suitable for most fitness levels, these sessions are designed to invigorate and energize participants at the start of their day.
Those interested are encouraged to begin their journey with a free consultation, which highlights the studio’s commitment to accessible, personalized care. In exploring yoga therapy as a way to ease symptoms of chronic pain, fatigue, stress, or burnout, Joanne Hudspith Therapeutics helps support clients in writing a new chapter in their well-being journey.
“Start as soon as you can,” Joanne says, for those who may be wanting to wait until they’re feeling a bit better. “The power of yoga therapy is in its ability to meet you where you are.”
