About
Silent Sundays: A Half-Day Retreat for Deep Rest and Renewal
When the constant noise and demands of daily life leave you feeling overwhelmed and disconnected, Silent Sundays at Joy Therapy offers a sanctuary for deep rest and inner reconnection. This gentle half-day silent retreat provides a rare opportunity to unplug completely and rediscover the spaciousness that exists within you.
Led by Andi D., a Registered Massage Therapist with over 30 years of experience in integrative bodywork and nervous system healing, these intimate gatherings are designed for those craving quiet and the nourishment that only silence can provide. Understanding how chronic stress, pain, and life's challenges can dysregulate our nervous systems, Andi creates a supportive environment where your mind, body, and spirit can naturally settle into stillness.
During each week’s 3.5-hour retreat, participants sit in mindful silence, practice gentle awareness techniques, and rest in the profound healing that occurs when we give ourselves permission to simply be. The experience honors the body's innate wisdom and intelligence, allowing your nervous system to regulate and restore itself in ways that constant stimulation prevents.
With space intentionally limited to just eight participants, the gathering maintains a close-knit, quiet, and supportive atmosphere where genuine restoration can unfold. Mid-morning snacks are provided, caring for your physical needs while you tend to your inner landscape.
Whether you're managing chronic stress, overwhelmed by the loud buzz of today’s world, or feeling a bit depleted by life's pressures, Silent Sundays offers a serene space to reconnect with the quiet wisdom that resides within.
// About the Facilitator
Andi D. brings over 30 years of experience in integrative bodywork and alternative healthcare to her role as a Registered Massage Therapist and nervous system healing specialist. Based in Hamilton, Ontario, she has dedicated her practice to supporting clients who haven't found relief through conventional treatments, particularly those experiencing chronic pain, brain injuries, concussions, and TMJ disorders.
As a neuroscience enthusiast, Andi specializes in Cranial Sacral Therapy — a gentle, light-touch modality that facilitates the flow of cerebrospinal fluid to release deep-held tension within the central nervous system. Her integrative approach also incorporates Dolphin Neurostim, medical acupuncture, visceral manipulation, fascial release, lymphatic drainage, and mindfulness practices.
Andi's philosophy centers on the belief that the body holds innate intelligence and that every experience leaves an impression on our tissues, affecting both physical and emotional health. Her work focuses on creating optimal healing environments for all body systems, allowing clients to reconnect with their heart and open their lives to greater joy and well-being.
